9 Jul 2022 - 13:30
On Saturday, 9 July 2022, the Wellcome Genome Campus will officially welcome the Queen’s Baton Relay. To celebrate, a ticketed event will be held in collaboration with South Cambridgeshire District Council, bringing together local communities, school children and Campus staff to celebrate science, sport and the Baton relay. The Wellcome Genome Campus was approached to host the Queen’s Baton Relay in recognition of the global health impacts of our science and our ongoing work in sequencing and analysing SARS-CoV-2 during the pandemic.
I will be busking as Karmadillo and Singing Science on the day! As Singing Science on the Terrace at Hinxton Hall 2.30pm – 3.15pm and in the same location at 5.10pm – 5.40pm. In the fairground area I will be performing as Karmadillo 4.15pm – 5pm. Busy day!
There will be a range of activities for children and families to explore areas of the genetic research that takes place on Campus. As well as this, there will be a variety of locally sourced food vendors, sports games, a family fun run, and local talent providing entertainment, including performances from nearby sports groups.
Info about tickets and any updates to performance times will be posted when they come up! Before that, here’s a photo from my last day on campus as a worker!
